Maritime Biotech is a cosmetic biotechnology company in Atlantic Canada focused on marine-inspired materials such as chitosan. We aim to translate advanced biomaterial science into simple, everyday surface-care routines for sensitive and redness-prone skin.

We develop cosmetic concepts that emphasize comfort, texture, and visible skin appearance—while respecting the skin’s natural barrier.

We prioritize clean, carefully selected cosmetic ingredients and marine-derived polymers chosen to be gentle and suitable for cosmetic use on sensitive-feeling skin.

Our formulations are guided by analytical testing and evidence-informed cosmetic science, with close attention to texture, stability, and repeatable performance.

Protective

We design film-forming gels, creams, and mists that sit lightly on the skin’s surface—supporting a comfortable, hydrated-feeling barrier without heaviness.

Pre-launch, research-driven

Our first cosmetic prototypes are not yet on the market. We are currently refining formulations, improving texture and stability, and preparing the documentation required for cosmetic notifications in Canada.
As our research progresses, product names, formats, and claims may evolve to ensure regulatory alignment and formulation integrity.
